PeekNod Privacy Policy
LittleJ (리틀제이), operating under the ZAKSAM brand (“we”), provides PeekNod for iOS and Android. This policy covers the app, its previews and SDKs, this product website, and support.
1. Camera, photos, and QR contents
Camera frames and your selected photo are processed on-device to recognize and interpret QR codes and display results. PeekNod does not upload these images or save a scan-history database. QR contents can include sensitive information such as Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, or authentication secrets.
The system photo picker provides only the photo you choose, without full-library permission. A photo provider may download a cloud-stored image to fulfil your selection.
There is no account system, advertising, or ZAKSAM-operated usage analytics or crash-reporting service. Third-party processing is described below.
2. Automatic website previews
After a web QR passes local URL checks, PeekNod automatically requests the link and loads a read-only preview before you tap Open in browser. Initial inspection and page display may request the same address separately.
The destination, redirect services, and page resource providers receive requested URL information and network data such as your IP address, request time, and browser/device headers. The URL may itself contain personal information or a token. Scripts and subresources may make further requests, set session data, or track visits under the site’s policies. A preview can consume a one-time link or trigger a server-side action.
Read-only means page links and form entry are blocked in the preview, not that the visit is anonymous, harmless, or guaranteed safe. Closing the sheet stops inspection and preview; it cannot undo requests another service already received.
HTTPS is used where supported, and TLS certificate errors are not ignored. Plain HTTP links are also supported and are not encrypted in transit. Do not scan sensitive one-time links unless you are willing for them to be accessed.
3. Local storage and removal
The app stores your language preference locally. Current QR results and observed navigation are active-session state, not a saved personal history. Preview documents and render files can use temporary app storage and are cleaned up when their view closes.
iOS previews use a non-persistent web data store. Android uses a separate app WebView and clears cookies and web storage on normal close and before the next preview. Android does not offer the same non-persistent store, so data may remain temporarily after an abrupt process termination. External browser login sessions are not shared.
Close the result to clear its active state. Fully delete the app, or use Android’s Clear storage, to remove local settings and app data under OS rules. This does not remove your original photos, saved contacts/events, clipboard copies, external browser data, or other services’ records.
4. Android scanning SDK
Android uses Google’s bundled ML Kit barcode scanner. Google states that input images and recognition results stay on-device, while the SDK sends performance and usage metrics to Google.
Google lists device/app information, installation identifiers, latency, API configuration, input/output sizes, feature events, and error codes for diagnostics and service improvement. iOS uses Apple’s native recognition APIs, not ML Kit.
See ML Kit privacy information, SDK data disclosure, and Google’s Privacy Policy for Google’s processing and retention. PeekNod has no in-app switch for these SDK metrics. We do not receive your individual SDK metrics in a PeekNod analytics dashboard.
5. Permissions and confirmed actions
- Camera: used for live recognition after OS permission. You can deny or revoke it and still choose a photo.
- Contacts/calendar: choosing to add a supported card or event passes QR fields to a system editor. iOS 16 requests calendar access for event creation; newer iOS and Android use the system editor without that permission. PeekNod does not upload your address book or calendar.
- Wi-Fi/external apps: after confirmation, relevant credentials, URLs, recipients, or other QR fields are passed to the system or receiving app. Its own policies apply. Supported actions vary by OS, and external sessions can differ from previews.
- Clipboard: explicit copying places content on the system clipboard; sensitive copies have an additional warning. Other apps may read it under OS rules. iOS uses local-only copies with a 60-second expiry; Android retention depends on the OS.
Change permissions in device settings. The OS, store, browser/WebView provider, and other apps may process their own security/diagnostic data under their policies. PeekNod does not request your current GPS location; location QR coordinates come from the QR author.
6. Support, website, and retention
If you email support@zaksam.com, we use your address, message, and attachments to respond and resolve the issue. Do not send secrets, private links, or unredacted personal data. Support information is retained only as long as necessary for the inquiry or legal obligations, then deleted. Email providers process messages for delivery.
This website embeds no ads, analytics scripts, remote fonts, or contact form. Cloudflare hosts and protects it, processing connection/request information including IP addresses. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Website visits are separate from on-device scanning; the site is not a QR-upload service.
We do not sell QR contents or support information or use them for targeted advertising. External sites, Google, Cloudflare, and email/platform providers may process data in other countries. Their retention and rights procedures follow their policies; we cannot erase records they hold independently.
7. Your choices and requests
There is no PeekNod account to delete or server-held scan history for us to retrieve. Contact us for access, correction, deletion, or other applicable rights regarding support information we hold. Proportionate identity verification or legally required retention may apply. You may also contact your relevant data protection authority.
We do not ask children to register or submit personal information. If a child sends personal information to support, a guardian may request deletion. QR destinations are third-party content and are not necessarily appropriate for children.
8. Updates and contact
We will post revisions and their date here, with additional notice or consent where required. Future features do not authorize undisclosed changes in data use.
